Poker ring games I
Ring games are those poker games, which are alternatively known as cash games or live action games, where real chips and money are staked and played for by the gamblers and there is no set time when such games may get over with players are free to join or leave the game as per their discretion. This is in contrast to the most poker tournaments where the games are played with tournament chips which don’t have any value outside the precincts of the competition. Moreover poker tournaments are played with a end format where all the participants are registered and usually it is only one player ho emerges as the champion.
In ring poker games, players are free to join a game by taking the buy-in or leave the game and get the payout while there is a gap of play during two hands, but under no condition can he take away any portion of his winnings from the live game table. So, if the player’s buy-in was $200 and he wins another $200, his total chip stack stands at $400. he cannot ‘go south’ and remove his buy-in from his stack so that this portion of his money remains safe and is not lost in the progress of the game. He may, however, choose to leave the game and take away his entire winnings. If he wants to play again, he has to rejoin by again paying $200 buy-in.
The table stakes rules are also applicable in ring poker games. So, if someone is playing a hand and in midst of the game intends to stake more amount of money for his bets and puts the extra cash on the game table directly from his own billfold, it is not allowed. However he may use his money like this to wager in subsequent hands of play.
